NILU

NILU is a leading research institute within pollution and climate. We monitor, collect and analyse data about air and the environment.

NILU is coordinating the NordicPATH-project and is responsible for the living lab in Kristiansand.

Within NordicPATH, NILU will advance the current knowledge on environmental sensor technology and develop optimal methods to support the application of low-cost sensor networks operated by citizens for information about the environment. We will investigate in methods to merge air quality data collected by citizens with the official monitoring networks, providing high-resolution information for citizens, business and public authorities. The environmental co-monitoring will be piloted in four municipalities in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
